...Sticking it to JD Byrider and CNAC like they stuck it to us...

JDB website not working too well

I am trying to find a minivan for my family. I have no credit, not much to put down, and my last car got picked up a few weeks back. I had it almost paid off, down to owing $1000, and the motor locked up tight. Called to ask if there was anything they could do, and they said, I can pay it off, and then they would haul it off for me for free. I told them they can just come get it, since I apparently now need the $1000 for ANOTHER car. No sense paying off a car that doesn't run in order to NOT have a working trade-in on the next one. So anyway, I'm driving my wife's car a month ago and I see that they're building a JD Byrider on the southwest side of town. In Fort Worth. Texas. I didn't know these idiots were HERE!!! And to think I left Ohio and Indiana to avoid them! Just kidding, I left Ohio because my parents live there. But back to the subject, I think, hmmm, maybe by now they have an inventory set up online, I can go see if they have something I would be willing to drive which could hold me, my wife, and our half a dozen children, without us having to drive 2 cars everywhere like we do now...um...well like we did before my car took a long dirt nap... Their website doesn't work worth a damn. Everything I click on gives me a 404 error. And to think I was going to give them a chance. HA!!!

Save Me Please

I had gotten a loan for a used car in January 2003. I showed proof of everything they wanted. I turned over my used car and they said I still had to pay $1000.00 for the rest of my down payment but they would give me a month to make this payment. I had no choice since my car had a brake problem and decided to quit on me. I made sure I paid my bills every 2 weeks of $187.50. I ,paved to Texas in November 2003 and called to let them know and give them a payment for the whole month of November at one time. I called to let them know that my social security disability check would not be in my hands until the 5th of December they said ok. I was at a Walmart 35 miles from my house on the 4th of December 2003. I walked out and to my surprise they had taken my car. This was even thou my payments were not to be in their office before the 6th of every month. I called the police and they were the one who told me about my car. I called them up and they told me too bad if I wanted my car back I would have to pay $325.00 to them and $300.00 to the towing company. I said forget it they could keep my car. I talked to an attorney and he said because I had not sent them a registered mail request about the payment even though it was not due yet that I was out of luck because of one obscure paragraph on the contract. I hope they enjoy the car I just had new tires and brakes put on it. Jim

IF what you're saying

is true then you have a real fight! *IF* your account was not late and they had it repossessed in error than you need to get a better lawyer because that would be right.

Now, IF the account was late but they gave you a verbal agreement to allow the account to be late until the 6th and you never received it in writing from their office, then yes you have no case.

Was this most recent repo

Was this most recent repo through Byrider? Byrider is the only dealer I know that can get someone financed for a good car the day AFTER a repo! You cant go anywhere else for that! They did everyone on here a good service and it depends on how YOU get yourself through that service that will depend on what kind of "buying power" you can give yourself. You want to be late on payments then you'll never have the good things in life. Don't judge any company on thier website, it could be a computer issue that is out of thier control, the Internet is not the all being of everything :-)

Repo was due to the fact

Repo was due to the fact that the selling dealer was refusing the repair the vehicle which was failing emissions. According to the Texas Clean Air Act, it is illegal to sell, or even OFFER for sale, a vehicle whose emissions systems are not present or not functioning. To keep from paying a fine of up to $25,000, they doctored their records and repossessed the car. At this point, I don't care, because I bought a cheap cash car for $300 which drives as well as the Lumina I had. JD Byrider was not the selling dealer, as they are still not open and there are no vehicles on the lot, which I can't even say is a lot because they haven't laid the concrete yet. But they do have a building and lights and a sign. As far as knowing JD Byrider, I'll say that when I lived in Indianapolis and Columbus, they were the most difficult to deal with people and even IF they had a vehicle I was interested in, it was a hassle to get a test drive, it was a hassle to do paperwork even back then when I did NOT have a repo. I even had two paid off notes to my advantage, receipts and a payment summary from each, but they REFUSED to acknowledge them since they were from a small car lot in Texas and they "don't serve Texas" or at least as of 1997-1999 they didn't. As for being late on payments, I only had the Lumina for 2-3 months before it came due for inspection. I only put 1800 miles on it in that time, and there was nothing I could have done to cause the emissions problem. The car came from Missouri and never had to pass emissions up there so the selling dealer SHOULD have inspected and tested it prior to selling. They did not, I called them on it, and they pulled a fast one on me. I have plenty of good credit, just not in the car note area. I paid off two note lot cars and three bank notes before my June 2000 repo. I then had the repo I just had, and I've been buying cash cars since 2000 until the Lumina, thinking it was about time to get a decent car. As for their website not working, well, this is 2006, almost 2007. I'm a complete idiot when it comes to html and spend more time looking up terms on Google than actually building my website. But my website works flawlessly.

Your saying that you are

Your saying that you are willing to take yet ANOTHER repo on your file instead of fighting it? Repair issues on a used car, was there a warranty on it? If not, you cna't fight it! It's called AS-IS, which is how 99% of used cars over 7 years old are sold. Your story has more holes that swiss cheese and makes no sense. Your making a genuine repossession into "someones else's fault". Take responsibility and one day you'll be able to buy a brand new car on your own terms.

Go read the law on the Texas

Go read the law on the Texas Clean Air Act. It states that the vehicle has to have all emissions control systems in working order. This car DID NOT. They refused to fix it. So they get the car back. It's a small tote-the-note lot and it won't go on my credit. They don't report to the bureau. And if it DOES show up, then I'll fight it. But I don't think they're that stupid. As for taking responsibility, I'm responsible for me, my wife, my children, and my dog. I take care of THOSE before a stupid car or car payment. As for buying a brand new car on my terms? I don't WANT a brand new car. There isn't a car out there made after 1996 that I care for. I took a 1997 Lumina because it was like my wife's 1998 and I thought it'd be a good car. It was, but without being able to pass inspection it might as well be a boat anchor. Get off my thread, and take your cheese with you.

There are always excuses for

There are always excuses for people with bad credit. I see your full of them right down to you not caring or needing a car. Whatever works for you is fine but you should down-talk a company because of your short comings.

Bad grammar

Dear gillweb, the contraction of you are is "you're" and not "your". Please be more careful when chastising people because they are venting.

Hey English Teacher

Gillweb was correct in his grammar. He was not saying you are short comings, he was saying your short comings. Please know what you are talking about before you make an idiot of yourself!

English Lesson and "short comings".

Your is correct. Shortcomings, however, is one word, not two. As for shortcomings, repo is NOT on my credit report, neither is the one from 2000, it's now 7 years old and GONE. So after reviewing our credit reports, turns out our credit is better than we thought, and we're in the process of paying some small old bills ($50 here, $100 there) and knocking out 90% of the collections activity one by one. There are only 3 bills I refuse to pay on my credit report. 1) Hospital bill from my ex-wife. Collection agency has been notified of this and they will review the bill and see that it's hers and put it on here and off of me seeing as it went into collections AFTER we were divorced. 2) The apartment complex who is trying to get me to pay for 7 months of a lease when they re-rented the apartment within 3 weeks of me moving out. I'll pay them for the month I owe them, for the $360 for carpet (which was bad when I moved in, but they took pictures and I'm stuck with it), and they can keep my deposit. However I will not pay them for the other 6 months and I will not pay them the other month and carpet until they fix the bill to show that 6 months has been removed. 3) Cingular cell phone bill which should be $310 or so, had been raised up to over $650. I'll pay them when they reduce the amount owed to what I actually owe them. I haven't yet checked my credit score, but I've got 5 accounts in good standing, no public debts, and just those three errors above plus the stuff I've already agreed to pay for. My wife has a few other errors and she's working on those. But her credit score is about 600, which is good enough to get a loan with E-Loan if we chose to. Capital One Auto Finance will go as low as 540, which might be close enough for me, I'm guessing my score is about 550 right now, was 520 6 months ago before I paid off 3 or 4 old debts and before my new credit card starting reporting payments. The thing is, I'm happier with an old beater Celebrity and a tough old Suburban. My wife wants something nice but I'm thinking it shouldn't cost us $10-$12K to get that. Found a 2003 Chrysler Voyager for $4750 with just under 100K, at a Chrysler-Jeep dealer. They're willing to finance us on it, I think we'll take it, but the amount is too small for Capital One, so hopefully my wife will qualify through E-Loan (amount with tax and title and tags is $5200 and change), or this dealer has a good finance department, or else we'll just wait until we find a more expensive car, I think the minimum is $7500 for Capital One, $5000 for E-Loan.

Actually, just about anyone

Actually, just about anyone will finance you the day after a repo.... So long as you don't tell them....

They didn't come close to giving me good service.

JD Byrider and CNAC Suck! - ...Sticking it to JD Byrider and CNAC Like they stuck it to us!

I've talked about RISK and

I've talked about RISK and that is the biggest reason why dealers like Byrider need to make money.... you just proved that by saying "don't tell them"! Do you have any idea how many times that type os situation happens to BHPH dealers like that? TONS! And with each of those a MAJOR loss is included! Sure they make let's say $6000 on one deal but they lose $5000 on the next! it's all relative like any other business.

I'll pass

If other car lots are going to treat me poorly, I don't expect JD Byrider to be any better. My repo which IS on my credit will be 7 years old in 7 months. I'll wait until then to try and finance something. The repo OFF my credit report, because this dealer KNOWS that if they try and report it that I'm reporting them to the EPA, well, it's not going to count against me. That dealer has about $1400 of my money in a car worth about $1500, they have the car back, with new tires all around, and if they try and mess with me they will wish they had never got into the business. ... I'll stick to my $300 POS for now. My wife can put the minivan we need in HER name. She has better credit than me it seems, since dealer don't treat her like crap. I'll keep my old car until it either croaks or I have enough CASH to buy something I like better. ... Forget note lots, they are more trouble than they are worth.

Fort Worth, TX

Oh my god! They're gonna build one in Fort Worth? I live in Grand Prairie, TX now so they're gonna be really close to me. They must be ripping people off good for them build more JDByriders. I am glad they're not taking any more of my money since I finished paying them off on Nov. 8th. Their website sucks! Nothing seems to work. I hope they don't come down to Dallas. They suck!
