...Sticking it to JD Byrider and CNAC like they stuck it to us...

Reality ........ | topic name changed |

I posted a topic about why no one should "hate" JD By rider or another company that offers a service like that and it was just deleted! What can only post negative things in this forum? My post was not even negative, it was neutral! It brought people a reality check. Why would you run your website like that? You should just delete a topic because YOU don't agree with it! You should really get a partial third party to administrate your forums if you can't do it properly! Wait, let me guess, this post won't be up for more than a couple hours right? Sad, very sad! My last post was about purchasing a house and by the time you pay that mortgage off you would have paid almost 4 times the value of the house but yet the mortgage companies aren't ripping people off? If you had $6000 cash in your pocket right now would you LEND it to someone who you KNOW won't pay you back? No you wouldn't! JDByrider and other companies just like it do! No I don't work there or even in the field, just a consumer who has a good sense of reality. You have to pay the fiddler sometimes!

Good Make Up...

That was a good make up post, rage. I understand the mortgage reference and how you may have thought it was spam so for the first part of my post I apologize. When it comes to paying too much in price for a car. That's the business! I told a small fib in my first post by saying I don't work in the field. I'm NOT in sales but I do work for a auto finance company somewhat similar to CNAC. If ANYONE out there thinks they are 'not paying over book value' for any car you buy, you are sadly mistaken! The AVERAGE mark up on a used car is $3000 at any car lot, even brand new! The AVERAGE profit on a new car is $3500 and a used car is close to $5000! Not just a JD Byrider, everywhere! So shouldn't this website be "buyingacarsucks.com"! You now the old salesman comment "oh I'm giving you this car $500 under cost!" So you feel all warm and toasty inside right... don't let that feeling take over too much because there are 3 different lists that any dealer uses to "show" you how much they own the car for. What they really own it for you will NEVER find out! That's just the business, nothing anyone can do about it.

I'm sorry, but, I'm just not

I'm sorry, but, I'm just not sure I buy that. I've bought more than a couple cars in my life, and, most of them have been within $1000 of the blue book.

In fact, this year, I bought a minivan, at a buy-here pay-here. Financed it for 18 mos (mostly paid in cash). I think, it bluebooked for $6500, I paid $5000 cash, and financed $1700.... IIRC, the actual price was $6600....

Car before that, I bought for $3500. Again, at another buy here pay here. Blue book was $3000.

The trick is, to buy low, at auction, or elsewhere, not to rip off your customers.

Of course, now, I know better. If I'm going on some serious car shopping, I take the laptop, and sprint card.... I'm not afraid to check the KBB right in front of the salesman...

Now, I know, the KBB isn't the 'end all be all' but, I expect the car to be about w/in $1000 of that. NOT $8,000 OVER. Particularly, when I *KNOW* they can be had at auction, for about 1/2 the KBB.

The warm fuzzy feeling has

The warm fuzzy feeling has you! :-) Good, keeps people me working ;-). Anyway, your 100% correct, buy as cheap as you can at the auction so you can MAKE as much money as you can! Especially in the BHPH (buy-here pay-here) business! Here's another thing your correct about; You walk into a BHPH or any other used car dealer with $5000 cash in your pocket, guess what, you no longer are going to pay a higher price! Money talks, BS Walks! 99% of BHPH people who walk into JD Byrider or other companies like it is because they have never paid a soul back in thier life and they have the $300 from thier McDonalds paycheck to use as a down payment! Guess what, that $6500 minivan you used $5000 cash to put down on, goes up to $9000 to someone with $300! It's all risk! If your asking a company to RISK thier profit on you than your going to pay for it! $5000 cash only financing $1500, come on wheres the risk? You already paid them for what they own the car for and the rest is 100% profit. . Final Thought: The bottom line here is risk. You pay for your risk in any sale, including a house. You have bad credit and want to buy a house, sure come on in! Here's your $150k mortgage at 12% for 30 years. You have bad credit and want a car, sure come on in! Here's your $3000 car sold to you for $6500 at 21%-29%. Your all welcome for me explaining the business to you, should make you feel better if your a credit criminal ;-)

Now hold on just a second.

Calm down.

I glanced over it, saw the word 'mortgage' again, and thought 'spammer'. That coupled with, the fact that you put it in the 'announcements and news' (READ: Inappropriate category) category, I removed it, without reading much of it. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Oh, and, regarding your almost-accurate analogy.

Yep, you do pay 4x or more, on a house.

However, if I was buying a house, and it appraised at, say $150,000, do you think you would buy it for, say.... $500,000? Heck, I'm sure pretty much any mortgage company that tried that, would possibly get sued, and/or be held criminally liable... IANAL, however.

No, you hopefully wouldn't. The mortgage companies, AND CNAC/Byrider, likely make their money on the INTEREST. Why would you buy a $1000 car for $9000 on top of the interest?

I understand that, and have no problem with being charged interest on a loan. (You know, that 29% thing? :) )

THAT, my friend, is where you 'pay the fiddler' (well, I'd say piper, but, potato patato... that doesn't come across well on the Internet, does it...)

Again, sorry for removing your topic. Thanks for getting the category right this time...

By the way, you don't need the militant attitude here. If I had removed your topic, for being inappropriate, I would have E-mailed you about it.

If you took the time to read, you'd see that I've let quite a few employees and fans, say their piece here. There's even a positive experience or two here...

So long as you mind the rules that you agreed to, and don't act like a jerk, I'm usually a pretty alright admin....

Enjoy the site.... :)
