...Sticking it to JD Byrider and CNAC like they stuck it to us...

My first visit to JD ByRider

I just wanted to post my first experience at JD ByRider tonight. I don't have a car and I take the city bus. I got off at the wrong stop (meant to actually go to RPM Auto Sales...opps) So I figured I mine-as-well try them. I spent almost THREE hours there! I did feel it was kinda shady. They wanted me to sign some forms prior to discussing numbers. Whats up with the TWELVE references? By signing it, I would give permission to solicit to my friends and family. That was a BIG turn off! Before discussing numbers, they had me test drive a 1999 Pontiac Sunfire (4 door). He knew that I wanted a Pontiac 4 door, but what he didn't know was the last car I owned was a 1997 Pontiac Sunfire (4 door). I bought it from another credit assistance type dealership and the cost was less than $4,000 with my loan and I know I put a down payment on it (just can't remember how much off hand). At JD ByRider, he was gonna charge me almost $9,000!!!!!!! Plus the outside was crappy, paint chips and little dents. Not that it matters, because it did run really nice. He was going to give me the car tonight with NO MONEY DOWN as long as I put insurance on it in 5 days.... which happened to be when I got paid next. I work early mornings so I've been up since 4am... by now its after 8pm....just got done test driving the car, when we're discussing numbers and panic set in because of the sheer push of sales. I couldn't take the pressure. I couldn't sleep on it and think over my decision. I wanted a payment in the $200 a month range and if my car payments with no money down were $301 a month, I know having ANY money down would have helped lessen that payment. That car has been sitting on the lot for a month. I told the salesman who drove me home that if its meant to be, then the car will be mine. A lot of others were turned off by the paint job. My last Sunfire was in great shape, but it needed so much work yet. So looks aren't always the most important. I'm interested in hearing your stories and taking time to read all of what you have to say, especially those who are former employees!!! Kozzie

Always look before you leap.........

I just joined this forum, I needed to get this out to the masses. Like most others, my credit was damaged but not beyond repair, I had a repo on my credit and was having a hard time getting approved for a decent auto loan. I came to JD Byrider because I had a good job, but no down payment. I got a car but was not prepared to deal with such auto loan sharks. They treat you like a piece of s**t even when you have made payments on time like I have. Currently I am paying as much as I can to get rid of them, it was the worse mistake I could have made. I understand that all auto dealers have some sort of mark up on their cars, but jd byrider takes it too far. My advice to you all who have cars with them is to pay it off as soon as you can, so they won't get anymore extra interest off of you, and get back on the road to rebuilding your credit. Good Luck!

Yep!

Yep! They were always the same way with us...

Even when paying EARLY! (We moved, about a 45min drive from JD, so, we would regularly come in, and make 3-4 payments at a time)

That's not how you treat someone who's giving you hundreds of dollars...

BTW -- Welcome to the site!

JD Byrider and CNAC Suck! - ...Sticking it to JD Byrider and CNAC Like they stuck it to us!

Yep!

Thanks, just trying to look out for others, just because you have or had bad credit does not mean you have to be taken to the cleaners!

Calm Down ASW

You know nothing about this persons finances or how they pay their bills. Why do you get so worked up? Kinda funny how J.D has so many unsatisfied customers!

i hate them

I've had a van i got from JD Byrider. I've had it for about 2 years now. I started to have bad feelings when i went to check out their vehicles. I told them I was looking for a van. the sales guy showed me a van that looked nice on the out and inside. but the problem was it was raining and the windshield wippers didn't work. neither did the lights, the windows (they were electric), speedometer. it was all electric. none of it worked. i asked the sales guy if there was an electric problem with the van? he told me oh no. its something else and can be fixed in no time and no problem. Well i basically told the guy to shove it. i will not go for that. he then told me about a van that someone else was interested in but they didnt come in like they were suppose to to pay their down payment. he said give me 2 days to get a hold of them and i will call you. if they dont come in or get in touch then you can check it out. he called me in 2 days i went in and test drove it. it was very nice and nothing was wrong except for one of the back windows didnt work. he told me if you want it, pay the down payment, we'll keep the van and will have it fixed by sun or monday. i was there on friday. i wanted the van cuz we were going to see family out of town. so i told him. he said that i could take it if i pay the down payment, when i get back call and make an appointment and they will fix it. i realized that it was kindof stupid. most car dealers have the cars fixed and in shape before they put them on the lot to show people. so that was my first thought. when i got back in town i called and made an appointment. dont remember how far out it was. but i had to bring the van in atleast 10 times, could be more. just to have the stupid motor for the window put in. everytime i went in they would tell me they couldn't do something cuz the motor was not there. How could you not have the motor? - i wondered. on the last trip i asked them why they never have the motor and noone calls me to tell me so i dont waste a trip? they finally told me that someone kept forgetting to order the motor. i was so furious. i told them that when i called i said why i was bringing in the van and they should have ordered it then. after they finally ordered and recieved the van they called me to set an appointment. and i still had to bring it in 2 times cuz the first time none of the so called mecanics knew how to put it in. they had to do it a day the head macanic was there. noting but problems with them. another time they repoed my van cuz i couldnt make it in due to flooding. they told me i had 10 days to pay it until they would take it off their lot and i wont beable to get it back. i said i was going to pay it as soon as the flooding stopped and i even spoke to someone and they told me it was ok but they still repoed it. i asked them if anyone will drive it while it was on the lot. they told me no it will just be there the only time they will drive it is to move it on the lot. fine!!! but no. that is not true. when i got my van back someone must have used it for personal use. i found someone's socks, mail, 2 liter soda bottles and all kinds of other junk in there. i was furious. they will screw you anyway you can. i could go on and on with some wonderful stories. but my hands are getting tired. their customer service sucks. how can you run a business and have poor customer service. they dont care if your not happy. they just want their money and thats it. no care if your happy, satisfied or anything. please if you know someone who is interested in buying a vehicle there tell them no. do a good deed.

Your story has some major

Your story has some major loop holes! I'll just expose 1 of them for everyone; They repo'd your car because of flooding? OK so you were flooded and couldn't get there to make your payment right? But it wasn't flodded enough for a repo truck to come and tow the car away from this horrid flood! Hmmmm.... Come on think of a better excuse!

Im sorry who is the stupid one here?

So tell us all again after the first visit to this company why you bought a vehicle from them? Oh, im sorry, could it be, because you yourself have such lousy credit that you have no choice but to buy from preditory lenders? pay your bills and this wouldnt have happened in the first place.
