...Sticking it to JD Byrider and CNAC like they stuck it to us...

SICK AND TREID OF BEING HARASSED BY CNAC

WE HAVE A LOAN THROUGH CNAC AND NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!! MY HUSBAND IS IN THE MILITARY AND DOES NOT MAKE A WHOLE LOT OF MONEY. I'M A STAY AT HOME MOM. AND WE BEARLY HAVE ENOUGH TO PAY THE CAR PAYMENT. I PAY THEM BY MONEY ORDER SO I DON'T HAVE CHECKS BOUNCE. AND I CAN'T PAY THEM UNTIL THE 1ST AND 15TH WHEN MY HUSBAND GETS PAID AND THAT'S HOW THE PAYMENT IS SET UP AND I HAVE EXPLAINED THIS TO THEM A MILLION TIMES AND I REAL TRIED OF HAVING TO REPEAT MYSELF. AND I REAL TRIED OF BEING HARASSED BY THEM. THEY START CALLING THE DAY AFTER THE CAR PAYMENT IS DUE, KNOWING THAT WE DON'T GET PAID UNTIL THE 1ST AND 15TH. AND THE REAL SAD THING IS THAT WE BEARLY HAVE ENOUGH MONEY TO BUY FOOD TO PUT ON OUR TABLE AND DIAPERS AND FOOD FOR OUR 9 MONTH OLD AND MY HUSBAND MAKE'S TO MUCH FOR FOOD STAMPS, BUT AFTER TAXES, CHILD SUPPORT, BILLS, CAR INSURANCE, AND CAR PAYMENT WE ARE LUCKY TO HAVE $50 LEFT OVER TO LAST US 2 WEEKS, BUT THEY DON'T CARE AS LONG AS THEY GET THERE MONEY. THEY DON'T GIVE A DAMN IF YOU AND YOUR CHILDREN STARVE TO DEATH AS LONG AS THEY GET THEIR MONEY. I RECOMMEND THAT NOBODY GO THROUGH JD BYRIDER OR CNAC FOR A CAR LOAN. YOU ARE BETTER OFF GOING TO A BUY HERE PAY HERE PLACE, PLUS YOUR PAYMENTS WILL BE A HELL OF A LOT CHEAPER. I CAN GET A LOAN FOR A NEW CAR FOR ABOUT $150 LESS A MONTH THEN WHAT WE PAY NOW, BUT MY CREDIT SUCKS. SO MY ADVICE TO ANYBODY DON'T GO TO JD BYRIDER AND DEFINETLY DON'T GO THROUGH CNAC. THEY SUCK BALLS!!!

THANKS
AMANDA H

Payment

I have had my over priced car for 2yrs not one late payment, got laid off for 3 months did not miss one payment, now my new job I get paid every 2 weeks I now have to pay a week late, boy they wont give in to help me out on changing my payment ,so when I can save to get my payment back on track I have to listen to then harrassing me. As far as I am concerned they can have it back and shove it where the sun dont shine.

Harrasment

We are sick and tired of being harrased. we have been late by 2 days before due to a problem with our bank not posting money deposited and when we tried to make a payment it didn't go through. We let them know what had happened and as soon as our bank opened Monday we were able to show the deposit slip and get it straightened out. The bottom line is we started recieving calls before our payment was due, as far as I am concerned that is harrasment and this time we received letters to both my husband and myself to inform us our payment would be due. When I called CNAC to inform them that we were a bit tired of thier harrasing, rude behavior I was told that nothing had been done wrong on thier part. I want to warn anyone and everyone of thier horrible treatment of thier customers, even the paying ones!

My sickening affair with JDByrider/CNAC

1st off. hello everyone!!! I will try to make this quick and painless.I live in Atlanta GA. I got a Dodge Stratus from JDByrider on may 14th, 2005. During the 1st 30 days the car stalled on me numerous times. I have all of my paperwork. a tow truck picked the car up on Monday. I got it back on Wednesday. Same week they picked it up on Friday. I went to pick it up on Saturday. had to wait another 4hrs while they try to fix it.Finally on June 14th, 2005 they got it and kept it for 3weeks. Now during the 1st week I asked for another car. I guess they needed to get rid of that one because finally they had to call Dodge. I had a major gas leak problem. They were kind enough to rent me a car during that 3wk stint. I got laid off my job. I still made my payments. I got paid the weeks in between payment dates. So of course I was late. I believe the harassment is based on your zip code and credit status. I tried to trade the car. No one would take it. The tie rod was holding together only by the grace of God. I went back and forth with them about. I only drove the car when I absolutely had to because it was dangerous. Finally after telling them I was going to talk to a lawyer about the danger did they fix it partially. When I got the car back, it had a blown gasket. They had me bring it back in. I was told I would get a ride to work and back to them. If they could not have it fixed by the time I got off work I would get a different car and pick up payments where I left off. Mind you this has been going on for close to 2 years. I never had the time to talk to a lawyer about it because of my work schedule. Well I had this real uneasy feeling all morning.
I called on my lunch break. I was told that it was going to cost me $2500 to get the car fixed because it was out of my warranty. Whose fault was that? I called every week and went up there every month. I was told I could not get the car back unless I paid the money. I said oh well. They never heard from me again until 2 weeks later. They called me to tell me to come to pick out another car. Against my better judgment I did. It was a nice green Buick. A few days before I was to get my tags I was called to do some more paper work. This kept me from getting a hard plate. The bmv gave me an extended temporary tag. I was held up there for quite a while. There was an issue with this lovely car. It had ON Star. I tried to activate it. They kept asking me where the care was located. That didn't seem right. Finally the hard plate day came. I was told that I could not get a hard plate because the car had been reported stolen. JDByrider was selling me a stolen car. They did not have the title to this car nor the 4 others they had on the lot just like it. They told me again to come and pick out another car. I got a van. The van was fine. normal wear and tear. Then I got sick. I had to resign from my job because I was moving back with my mother. My mom got sick. Two sick people can't take care of each other. So I stayed here in GA. I have begged and borrowed to make my payments. granted I am behind 3 by-weekly payments. I have job making a lot less money than before because it is less strenuous. I called CNAC to give my job location and number. My co workers tell me that they call 4 times a day every day. I bring home $456 bi-weekly. My rent is $600.00. I am behind 3mnths in rent. My landlord is giving me a chance to get back on my feet. I pay the current mnths rent until I can due better. I pay the current payments to CNAC. finally they said 2 payments or no car. Now I have a tow truck and bmw with a couple of guys creeping around my house as I type this. I have never tried to hide from them. I gave them the benefit of the doubt why can't they return the favor? The lawyer that I do have has been waiting for this. This will be fun. Finally I am done.

Lemons

High probability you got a lemon as it was purchased from JDByrider. I would take the car back and give them the keys. Most of the time they will not pursue someone if they are in the first year of their contract. Lots of threats and barking but they DO NOT want state's attorney generals investigating their business practices as it could put them out of business as it did in Kentucky. The fines can be enormous once the state gets involved and find falsified budgets, bad cars, harrassing collection calls and violation of collection laws.

single mom here

I to am stuck with a lemon had this car for 2 years and only put 5000 miles on it beacase you guess broke

What??

A few parts of your story aren't adding up here...

First you say your payments are due on the 1st and 15th...you state that you know that and Byrider knows that...but you are upset when they call when its one day late??

Why would the payments be late if thats the way they were set up??

And why is it that Byrider is harrassing you when your payment is late? All banks, utility companies, cell phone companies, etc call you when you are late. Byrider wants their money just like everyone else does.

Also, if the car payment is strapping your budget, why did you buy the car?? You saw the price and payments of the car when you signed for it. You should have know then that it would be too much for you...

Also, Byrider did a budget with you during the application process to find out if you could afford the car...and would not have sold it to you if you didn't budget...

That doesn't make sense to me...

Sounds to me as if you got in over your head and now want to blame Byrider for your error in judgements...

Budgets

You know how budgets are manipulated to make sure people qualify. Yes JDB does a budget but it sure isn't very accurate. Take a few to a judge and let them look at them and JDB would be in TROUBLE as it would be considered predatory lending practices. Not including everything on the budget and you know it.
Another big JDB lie is the affordable payment for customers as 90% of the payments are very, very close to the same number and only the gross is adjusted. Each dealership sets an average payment they want to hit and statistically there isn't much variation.

Budgets...

I have to disagree with some of your observations here...

ALL car dealers conventional or otherwise...over gross the vehicles...

Budgets are manipulated to one extent or another everywhere...

I know people in the conventional car business...and its not all that different...

The main difference is...in conventional car sales...you are selling the car to people with good credit...people who have options...it is about the car...

In secondary financing...or buy here pay here...you are selling the financing itself...giving choices to those who have limited or no options...

To say that this is something only Byrider does...is just not being realistic...

In the car business...or any other business...the goal is to make money and be profitable...

Does Byrider charge a lot for their vehicles...??

Yes...I have never said otherwise...

Nor have I ever said I agree with everything Byrider does...

But it falls into the catagory of..."It is what it is"...

Byrider provides a service...a choice...if its not for you...or you think its a rip off...go elsewhere...

The customer always has that choice...

If the customer has not done their homework...I don't see how that is Byrider's fault...

Budgets!!

The service Byrider provides is taking advantage of people. You are correct in that their customers have not done their homework but that is what makes it predatory. Byrider sits back and takes advantage of consumers who don't do their homework. What if you were not as intelligent as you are? Would you want someone to screw you because you were not?
Yes people have a choice but Byrider sure makes it sound good to many people. Affordable payments (almost ALL around 350p/month), budgets (omitting pertinent expenses), service agreement (bad technicians and vehicles), nationwide franchise (alot of people in the US with bad credit and needing a car).
And yes most people who buy from Byrider are joining a group of people where 30% of them are not going to pay which makes the price go sky high. But if you are one of the 70% who plan to pay you should not get involved with Byrider but go somewhere else where you will save money so you are not paying for the 30%. That is why you and I would NEVER get a car at Byrider because we/I would never pay the amount they ask no matter how bad my situation was because I am not going to pay for deadbeats.

Variance from "The Norm"

My husband and I chose JDBYRIDER in Fairfield , Ohio due to a slight late pay credit issue on my husbands credit. We knew what these kind of businesses are like and what they are about. (Who is so silly as to make one of the most important financial decisions in one's life and credit history and doesn't take time out to do a history check on the business and the laws governing second chance financing before purchasing a vehicle?)

Anyway, being acutely aware of his credit history, reasons for late payments (divorce)and also what our monthly budget would be, we were able to get a fantastic car in which we paid 3,000 less than sticker and then financed according to our time that we felt was fair and accurate based on the age and resale value of the vehicle post pay off.

Now, we have never been harrassed, misled or taken advantage of at all. We made our payments as scheduled on time. They trusted us enough to take a chance on what a conventional car finance company might have charged a much higher interest rate ( 7.25% interest over 36 mths.)and provided us superior service.

I know this is from the norm of what I have read on here, but one must ask themselves, is it all JDBYRIDER's fault or are you as a consumer uneducated and unaware before you make your purchase? Your ignorance is not a companies fault. The equation is simple really. Know your monthly budget (incoming and outgoing) and then make your car payment no more than 9% of that budget.

ALWAYS make your payments on time! Never lie or offer excuses. You are right, companies are in it for profit and do not care about your family issues . They extended to you a trust, you are REQUIRED to fulfill your end.

Where Ya At UAllGotScrewed...??

I'm surprised you didn't jump all over this post above...

Variance from "The Norm"...

Now THAT has to be a Byrider employee...

It reeks of 100% Byrider sales script...

Didn't miss a mark...

Cheap thrills

Oh Tall-Oak, so many points to make. I'll just focus on a few. I thought I would let you revel in that post since it makes you feel so vindicated, "cheap thrill." Just wondering...did you go to school? "Where Ya At?" I thought we sent you away.....finally! Now crawl back into your dung heap and continue your evolution, it's not time for you to come out yet.

Big Words...

I've had plenty of education...

Just didn't want to use too many big words so an idiot like you would be able to understand...

Take more than you to send me anywhere...

Crawl back into a dung heap...?

No thanks...!!

Don't want to be that close to you...

Big Words

So you actually believe JDByrider is a good company providing a value added service to consumers?

Saying...

What I am saying...

What I have always said...

Is that good or bad...right or wrong...

Byrider is there...

It provides a service for those with limited to no options...

It is no more good or evil than any of the many other institutions that ask large sums of money from its patrons...

ie: insurance companies...gas companies...utility companies...

And while everyone is so gung-ho on trying to reform Byrider...

There are many other companies sticking it to the American public every day and getting away scott free...

Even now...most insurance companies are basing your rates by your credit...if you have bad credit...you pay a much higher premium...

The price of crude oil has dropped by $6 to $10 a barrel...yet prices at the gas pump continue to skyrocket...

How is that any different from what Byrider does...??

Answer: Its NO different...

Lets wake up people...

Plan To Pay...

I don't know which Byrider you worked at...
But the one I worked at...
It was the other way around...
70% being the ones who you have to chase to get your money...
And 30% coming through like champs...

Which is one of the main reasons for the "reminder calls"...
Because the majority of the customer base needs the "coaxing" to pay in a timely manner...

Yes...I agree it sucks that the good payers get those kind of calls...and the account reps should take those kind of things in consideration before calling...

But again...it is what it is...

Planning to Pay

Delinquency ran around 10-12% at close on Saturdays which was around 140 customers delinquent. Charge off each month was around 18 customers or around 1.4%. This is no where near 70% having to be chased. If that was the case JDByrider would be out of business as the profit is on the finance side due to the 21% on a $10,000 balance. Most of the account reps think the customers are crap and treat them as such. Everyone isn't lying but as they have to deal with alot of lies they naturally lean in that direction. It is just a crummy business to have to be involved in. Thankfully I no longer have to deal with it. It was by far the worst situation I have ever been involved in and the most dishonest business. Just didn't feel good about what we were doing. You have either got to be low class to work there or really buy into the bullcrap JDB Corporate feeds you!

Tall_Oaks I don't think you

Tall_Oaks I don't think you have a clue what you are talking about. My husband has had several loans through this rip off joint. First, in their contracts they state that you cannot trade in their cars to anyone else, so if you want to go somewhere else and trade in forget it. Second, my husbands payments are due on Saturdays and they call on FRIDAY, they say it is just a reminder call, we make every payment on time and they still call. I would call that harrasment. I think you need to have some personal experience with the subject you are talking about before you start passing judgement on others.

Don't Think...??

I know exactly what I am talking about...

And by YOUR own admission...you and your husband "Had several loans" with Byrider...

If it was such a rip off...why in the hell did you keep going back...??

Obviously...you needed their services...you couldn't get financing elsewhere...

And I would be very interested to see that no trade clause in your contract...

I have never heard of or seen such a thing...

At least not when I worked there...

Maybe the policy has changed...I don't know...

Money is money...why should they care where it comes from...??

It doesn't make sense...

Don't Think!!

It is very sad that JDB has any repeat customers. Just goes to show you they don't think or they don't believe they can go somewhere else or they get contacted by a salesman who does a good job of getting them back in.
There isn't a clause saying vehicles can't be traded but in all reality they can't as you start out owing $10,000 on a $3500 car and you never get to a situation where you can even think about trading until you get below $2000 which is around 3 years of payments. Most of the people who had any sense just dropped off the car and went somewhere else and bought one from a dealer. Alot of the dealer's sales people tell them to drop off the JDB car as they know that most of the time customer's are not pursued due to the fear of upsetting customers and then they file complaints with attorney generals.

The "reminder" calls

Oh, I remember those, how I miss them!

"Your payment is due tomorrow, you had better get your *$# in here and make it."

I'd heard they don't do that anymore (I have a friend with a loan thru byrider, unfortunately. We've shared stories, but, he says he does not get the "reminder calls"... Maybe you have to be a day late, once, to qualify for the abusive calls reminder calls...

If only I still had my old answering machine. There were some flippin doozies from these jokers.

At one point, I decided if you're not going to be civil with me, I'm not going to be civil with you. It was good fun, trying to see how many four-letter words one can jam into a sentence, even where they don't belong :P (only after they decided to swear at me first with no provocation!)

Good times, good times.

Cnac still makes the

Cnac still makes the "courtesy calls" the day your payment is due. I just recently purchased a 2003 ford taurus. Although i have had no problems with the car itself the attitudes that the employees have at cnac is deplorable. I purchased the car in feb. April first i ended up in the hospital for emeergency back surgery.I was out two months and strugled to make the payments and now im back to work. The problem is my pay schedule is diff and i cant make the payment for one week at which time i was going to make two so i was always ahead(mind you i just gave the 3 payments about 3 weeks ago which they had no problems taking)now they say i cant be late and they need the car NOW and that all their customers have "excuses"(ive faxed them medical reports). Cnac just sucks

Stop it

Tall_Oak...are you playing "undercover" here for these people or what.

You sound like you're "one of them".
