I can't believe there are so many complaints!
My husband and I purchased a 2001 Sata Fe from JD Byrider in Roanoke Va! We are young and don't have any credit established and saw the commercials and thought it would be a good idea. Wrong. We had the car for about 6 months and the motor blew in the vehicle. The bad part was 2 days after we bought the car, the motor starting missing. We called non-stop until it finally broke down and they could never fit it into their "service schedule" I had papers to prove that I hadn't gone past my milage warranty but they said that when I purchased the vehicle it was on a different milage than on the paper! I couldn't believe it. I refused to make the payment if they refused to fix the vehicle and they reposessed it. It is now on my husbands and mine credit and I am not happy about it at all! They sell vehicles they know are going to break down in a short time and do this the the people. They get all our money, plus the vehicle back in the end! What a plus for them. I have let everybody I know and everybody they know do not EVER go to this place. I feel somebody needs to bring this company down for what it is doing to the young with out credit and then everybody else who doesn't have the best credit. They have NO RIGHT! to do this to people.

jd sucks i bought a 2000 kia
jd sucks i bought a 2000 kia from them in jan 2007 and within the first month it needed work and and they rigged my one hose instead of replacing it they are very dishonest ppl hey suck!!!!!
severly dishonest!!!!!!
hello people, i was employed at jd for 4 months,(a big mistake)and this franchise has to be the biggest rip-off ever! Every vehicle they bought was either wrecked, flooded, burnt, crushed, crashed,or all of the above.I had to leave due to the unethicle work they were insisting i perform.I have seen the punchlist of cars purchased from auction...They spend an average of $2000 on a vehicle and mark it up $10,000!!
Ask for a CarFax!
You say that EVERY car was "wrecked, flooded, burnt, crushed, crashed,or all of the above" so why would anyone buy a used vehicle these days without a carfax report? If one can not be furnished or they are not willing to purchase it for you then yes maybe you shouldn't buy from that dealer. I know MOST byriders will not sell a car with a Negative rating with CarFax!
can be altered
If you take any webpage and drop it into say word or Adobe you can change anything you want on it. That's why nothing ever shows up on their reports.
buy your own!
So if you think they defrauded you with an alteration of your carfax then spend the $15 to get one of your own and prove it to them!!! Again I'll say, "A mind is a terrible thing to waste!"
carfax
I could not understand how all these vehicles were having clean carfax history, but from what i understand is that the insurance companies and dmvs do not properly share imformation with the reporting companies.
My JDB/CNAC Experiance
My husband and I purchased a 1997 Chrysler Sebring back in 2003. It was a sweet ride for about a month or so when the rear left wheel bearing went out. We live about 45 miles from the JDB dealer - and were told to drive it up there (this was before we know for sure that it was the bearing) and they would take a look at it. We get it up there - and the tech looks at it. Says that he will have replace it - as it is extreamly bad and not safe to drive on the highway (gee...thanks). He did not have the correct bearing on hand and it was close of buisness hours (about 5:30 pm or so) so he put a slightly larger bearing in - telling us that it was safe - just that the dust cover for the ABS sensor did not fit now - and that the brake light would probably stay on. It was late - the kids were hungry so we said fine whatever and took our car and went home. Not even 2 weeks later - we notice that the wheel bearing is making noise again. We call and drive it back up there. This time the tech denies having put a larger bearing in the car the last time, and writes off the noise as being worn tires. We were told, when we purchased the vehical that the tires were new - and that now - because of the "tire wear" - we would have to pay out of pocket to replace them.
Long story short - we had the car for about 7 months before we were BEGGING CNAC to repo it. We tried trading it in at another (reputable) dealer - and they wouldnt give us what we needed to pay off the loan on it - it was that big of a heap of crap. It took CNAC about 3-4 MONTHS to come get their car. 3-4 MONTHS of us telling them several times a week to please come get it - or allow us to drop it back at JDB. We were tired of paying for a car that we couldnt drive - because it had so many issues and we were afraid of something major going in it while the children were in it.
When CNAC FINALLY decided they were going to come get it - the repo guy (who looked like he was all jacked up on 'roids) acted like he was going to bust my door in, and knock my teeth down my throat, if I refused to give up the keys and title (um hello? we have been begging someone to come get it out of our yard!)
They only got $750 for the car at auction - it was that big 'o piece. We filed bankrupcy on the remaining balance.
Happy I came here
I have been seeing on tv the ads for JD Byrider for a while now. My new driver is 17, has a good job working at AE. He wants an 94 or 95 Honda civic that he can "Supe up". So we are shopping for a car about 10 years old or older. I was thinking I could take him to this place when he turns 18 so he can get a car from them, start building he credit. Now I will keep looking elsewhere. I find it shocking that so many people have the same problems with these people across the county. We live in the Savannah GA area. I think their dealership has only been here a year or two. But let me assure you I will tell all the parents I know not to go there.
Thanks a lot!
Savannah, GA Dealership
The people at the Savannah, GA dealership are really forthright and honest. They are really good to buy a car from. Don't let all of these negative comments keep you from buying a car from a good JD Byrider franchise. Go down to the dealership and take a look for yourself. Meet the staff and salespeople. Ask questions. You will be happy you did. I know that this site can be really negative, but if you've searched, there are no negative comments about the Savannah, GA dealership:) Hope this helps!
Oxymoron
You stated "good JD Byrider franchise" now that is an oxymoron if I ever heard one. Obviously you must be a salesperson at that store, however, I do agree that each potential customer should do their homework before signing any kind of contract with anyone, much less JD. Talk to the Better Business Bureau in Savannah, they seem to be pretty sharp there.
Happy to help
I wish there was a way I could've found out about CNAC/J.D Byrider before I brought a car form them. Its too late for me but I'm glad to see this site is helping you and others to know its better to look some place eles. They are rip off artist.
