This is how they do it

I do not know where you buy your cars from, But where I am from, You are allowed to LOOK, and Guess what??? even breath and test drive a car. I was getting my oil changed, Just on a lurk I went over to the new cars to take a look at them. A salesman came over asked if I wanted to look inside, I said Yes (this is the breathing part) I looked inside and out the car, LOVED IT! Then he asked me if I wanted to test drive it? I said yes, I drove around, he even let me drive on campus to pick up a friend so she could drive my car back ( I had already made up my mind to buy the car) We came back on the lot. He had already gave me a price, So I told him I had some late payments on my report,(6 late payments) he told me not to worry. We did the paper work so I can buy this car. Guess what I drove off the lot in a brand new 2008 Toyota Highlander. and it only took hour and half. No I did not buy the car that THEY WANTED me to have, I got the car that I picked. Before you ask, to confirm my income, where I lived etc! we went online pulled 3 months of bank records, Was able to call my insurance company and get my car insured.

You couldn't be more wrong! I have purchased 6 new cars in my past and not once did I do anything with financing until I test drove and made the final decision of which car I wanted. I have always freely walked around the lot and decided which car "I" (not someone else but I) liked the best. And I have owned Pontiac, Ford, Chrysler, etc. So, you can't say it was just that one lot. Oh, and my current car is a Lincoln and guess what, I chose it, I test drove it, then I worked out financing!

I never experienced anything like this until I visited JD Byrider this week. Never before have I experienced anything like what they put me through. They had to do a pre-approval before they would even let me look at the cars. Then THEY chose 2 cars they said I could look at. I didn't get a say so or anything. I refused and said I had no interest in those 2 and that there were another 2 I was interested in. He was instantly like, "Oh no, those won't work for you". I think I know what works for me, not someone who has known me for 1 hour. After everything was said and done it took 3 hours before they would even let me test drive a car. They changed their story on everything they told me and more than once. As far as I was concerned I saw so many red flags I ran for the hills.

Maybe you shouldn't be so fast to judge someone just because they have a repo or a foreclosure on their record! Maybe you shouldn't be so fast to judge someone by the way they dress or look. That same person might have more money in their bank account than you make in a year. I have seen credit in all shapes and sizes and I have seen many a people who have a repo on their record who still have a high enough credit score to go buy that BMW.

So, I think I'll go breathe on a 7 series today! Maybe even test drive one. :)
