I'm sticking it to them like they stuck it to me!!
Here's a very long story that i'm gonna try to shorten. Jacksonville, Florida...I was self employed, running 2 businesses, and working a FT night job. My Dad was terminaaly ill and required constant medical care , because of this, I was the sole supporter of myslef (my 2 children) both parents and my little brother. We lived in a rural community. my mom's van died, i gave her mine so she could transport my dad. I had perfect credit (not 1 single delinquency!!)and a great income and could buy what i wanted. I did not know this was a buy here pay here. I had to "apply" for financing. I did not have alotta spare time to "shop". I hit an area of town where alotta dealers were close together (JD Byrider included) long story short i was "SOLD" a 2000 Ford Focus (close to 80k miles)for $10,500 (almost $15k after they were finished writing everything up). The salesperson had an answer for everything, like..they explained the overpricing..as i heard repeatedly, that i was paying for the security in the vehicle, that if it were to break down while i was paying for it, they would repair it and keep it running (this was an important factor since i had to drive 3 cities away to work (55 miles 1 way). my payment was $160 every other saturday. i put $1500 down. I made my pyments on time religiously until 6/2007 and was always concidered by CNAC as a "perfect customer" (heard that before too)So what's the problem? well less than 2 months after i purchased the car,the car's alternator died and left me stranded on the side of the road, while going to work. i was reprimanded at work for this..JD byrider eventually agreed to fix it and did. (it cost me $50)and a days pay and then it broke down again and again...i was in hot water at work, so i had no choice at that point (2 months after buying this car, i was forced to immediately go and purchase another car so i would n't loose my job...i went to a dealer accross the street, bought a 2002 mustang less than 70k mile (i paid $1500 down/$300 month for 36 months-this car is now paid off and never broke down 1 oil change a set of tires since i have racked up 40k+ miles and still driving every day!! still like a brand new car!!!) so here i am going back-making 2 car payments. the focus kept breaking down..(it was in the shop for a bout 6 months with a multitude of issues) i never drove it and to this day i personally have put maybe 3k miles on it...mostly driving back and forth to the repair shop..i kept getting it fixed...everytime the car was started it would break down. i gave it to my mom for about a year..she gave it back because she was tired of walking, she didn't even want it for free!!!! they had the car fixing it, at one point for 2 months..i finally went to the dealership and threatenned to call the police and report it stolen and tell the police that they stole it!!! so then they admitted that it was accross town at another lot in the "repo'd --- going to the auction" lot. the last time it was in the shop, the wanted me to pay like 4 or $500 for some clutch switch..after i throw a royal fit, the service manager said he would comp the charges if i would give the shop a good review when i recieved a call from corp to inquire about how i was being treated. i said to him that i appreciated his effort to make things right and would relay my experience to corp. i drove the car home and that night corp called. I told the truth. i explained what my experience had been from start to finish. good and bad. i explained how many times i had my car in the shop, what i had paid for repairs or deductibles etc and that they had possession of my car more than i had (this is about 1 year-year and a half into it) we had only put maybe 3k miles on it at that time)the next day i decided to drive the car for a test run..it broke down! it was the clutch switch..i called the service manager...he said "don't you ever bring that piece of shit back here, we will not service you or that car again!" i was dumbfounded, why is that? i asked. he said.."i told you to give me a good review and you didn't so we are no longer accepting your car. wow! so i called a local shop, they towed and repaired the car ($125) it was a dealer part..they paid $75 to ford and charged me the part plus $50 for labor and the tow)...they also gave me the switch the byrider put on new the day before...it was an old part with a brand new BREAD TIE holding the clutch switch in. and for that...i was expected to pay $400!!! so i filed a complaint w/BBB some big shot wrote me a suck-up email asking me to call so we could work it out..i think we worked it out when i filed complaint!!?? no it didn't end there...so my Dad goes into a coma..then passes away..i'm still making on time paymnts...a few months later i am in an auto accident (hit n run and in my mustang) i was injured very badly, during several MRI's they discover among other things, i have Multiple Sclerosis and am now permantly disabled, and no longer able to work (still making them on time payments though!!) a couple months later my aunt (also w/M.S) is discovered to have stage 4 cancer and my mom and i went outta state to see her before she passed--only she passed away 5 days after we arrived...(never forgot about my making my payment on time through all this) we go back home after all the affairs are settled (over a month later) and i decided that i was not getting better and needed to seek alternative treatments...i relocated my entire family 1300= miles away and began therapy..still disabled, unemployed and making 2 car payments...however...here's the kicker...my birthday rolls around..i re-register the cars and get new insurance blah blah blah..well CNAC gets the state notice that i cancelld my old ins policy...they send a letter out to me but i had not yet put in the change of address yet because our house was still on the market...so i call in my payment and "ALEX" my personal payment antagonist, very rudely tells me i am jeopardizing thier collateral-because i did not have insurance..i paid for car nearly 2x already..it was only worth 6k when i bought it...i explained i did have insurance and new registration etc. he called me a liar and said he knew i didn't own (my address) and that the property belonged to mr "my dad" and that the property was abandoned (not-still had family living there!) and for sale because they had sent someone to check out the property...i was so disgusted with the audacity of this little prick...as i held the veins in my forehead...i darted back..."dead people can't own property and rather than wasting your days scrumbling through outdated tax records, playing i spy,if you wanted to know the status of my inheritence why don't you ask? i'd be delighted to share a copy of my deed and the $1200 tax bill i paid !!" what an asshole, right? now remind you, i owned this car for almost 3 years at this point (oh and it was broke down again-this time a timing chain $1300 job)and haven't been late..i was merely calling to make my payment!!!! he said if i did not give him my "REAL" address..phone#..job...insurance registration etc they were not accepting my payments..oh and that if the car was not in the state of Florida..i had breached the contract and that i would need to pay off the account infull...all this because they were in jeorpardy..jeopardy if what? i owed a balance of $4100.xx i started at $15k and had never been late!!! i was calling to make my payment!!! so after alotta dirt slingin' i told him to call me when he was ready to take a payment and i hung up on him..he called the next day..."i'm ready to take a payment mrs. so and so" so i paid...then it repeated again 2 weeks later...and again...2 weeks later...then he did not call back...and niether did I. then i got a card on my door (in the other state) from a repo co. and they also went to a family members home here as well looking for the focus and called all my refrences and told them i defaulted and some other personal business (violation)....they did not get it!!!! It seems I may have misplaced it...I know it's around here somewhere...so at this point, because of all the verbal abuse i suffered and embarrasment..money and inconvenience this company has caused..not to mention they refused my payments..i decided to give 'em what they deserve..a taste of thier own medicine...it's been like nearly 11 moths since they got a payment outta me...(the car would have been paid off months ago, anyway if they woulda minded thier manners..and the law....so 11 months....CNAC got no $$$$...and best of all no car!!! haha
and best of all..the charge off that appears on 1 of my reports..only dropped my fico score 10 points..but still over 700 fico..and getting new accounts and credit increases every month...so who cares?? now CNAC/still wanna play "who's the dumbass?" okay okay...i would be willing to ship the car back to them...1 car part at a time....every 2 weeks....for 36 months...user poll: should i c.o.d them the clutch switch, the alternator or the timing chain first? for all my fellow victims, i am sorry you got suckered...i hope you all find solice in knowing that cnac has blessed nature with a $15k custom flower pot!!! hahahahaa haaa "TAG--your IT CNAC!" hahahhhhaaa haaah haaaah haaaa oh and CNAC>>> if you find this car..i'll still pay the balance..just because you will have truly earned that $4100 and that point...truly!!!!

This company and these cars are junk!
In case all of you don't know, almost all of the vehicles that JD sells are total crap! Probably a 1/3 have been under water, wonder where all the Katrinna cars went? Guess what....you found them! The majority are unfit to be on the road in the first place, most can't even leave the lot after sale without multitudes of problems coming up. People, if they ask you to video and audio tape your contract signing, thats a pretty clear indication of what your in for. CNAC goal is to screw you from start to finish, most of you are finding that out the hard way. The greatest percentage of people never complete the program! They reposess 6 out 10 cars that they sell! Even if you have bad credit, run and do not look back from this company, you will be much better off for it. Why the state and federal consumer protection agency's haven't slapped these bastards with huge fines for the criminal conduct that they do is beyond me. There should be a complete and thourogh investigation of what this company does! They take advantage of the people who can afford it the least, not to mention 95% of thier clientel is African American. If you have money and good credit, you can't buy a car here, they don't want your business! People.....Wake up!!!!!!!!
Totally Fals
You think 1/3 of the cars were underwater. TOTALLY FALSE!!!!!! EVERY BYIRDER GIVES A CARFX REPORT OR SIMILAR AT THE TIME OF SALE. JUST ASK FOR IT and you will be guaranteed that the car was not underwater.
Check the facts before you pay to much attention to people who are made because of their credit situation. Take responsibility for your own actions and stop blaming others.
Dumb @$$
I am so thankful I came accross this site. Actually, I am so thankful that I left the Byrider lot yesterday without signing or buying a darn thing. I have purchased many New cars in my short life and I know how things work. Due to some unique circumstances I did need to find someone to work with me now from some issues on my credit. From the second I stepped in the door yesterday things didn't seem right. I could tell these sneaky bastards from a mile away.
Frankly, the only reason I am even posting is because of people like "dreamer" posting comments on here such as, "Check the facts before you pay to much attention to people who are made because of their credit situation. Take responsibility for your own actions and stop blaming others." People are not made of because of their credit situation. You play with peoples emotions and try to just mentally mess with them. That's all you are trying to do. You think you have the right to say anyone who thinks negative about JD Byrider just thinks that way because they have bad credit and are losers anyways. WHATEVER! I probably make more money dude in a week than you make in a month. I thank God I didn't get suckered into buying a car yesterday and was able to see into your tatics. I am a salesperson myself (but a very good and honest one) and can read into a dirty salesman a mile away. It probably makes you sleep better at night thinking you have done no one wrong, they did themselves wrong by getting themselves in this mess. No, there are a lot of hard working Americans out there just trying to make a living and get a little ahead in life and you are taking advantage of them.
So wake up and stop making it seem like people caused themselves this mess. NO, you did! The company that sold them the crap car caused it!
"Are you stupid or what?"
Carfax reports can be minipulated just like everything else, they run the title through Pennsylvannia and it gets cleared. You must be a manager at one of thier stores, don't you have a conscience? I know more about the facts than you realize, been there done that, left that. This company is so corrupt, they demand that thier employees never talk to the press or media. They don't want the word to get out about what they really do there. Don't be mad at me cause you got screwed.....I am just trying to warn all of you that this company is evil and will hurt you way more than help you.
