I am a former employee of Byrider. I left to take another job, so I have no axe to grind against the company.

I can't speak for how all of the lots conduct business. I can only write about the one I worked at.

Let me start off by saying I find quite a few of these stories here hard to believe.

Lets start this story by saying that my wife and I had bought a car from a used car lot in GA. Quality Auto in Kingsland, GA. That car died a week after having it. It was AS IS. So..I have a loan and no car. So I thought going to JD Byrider would be my answer. They at least have a damn warranty! So I paid $500 down, and $500 extra the 1st mnth.

My son is financed through CNAC. My son signed up for the Marines, and on March 11, was shipped off to boot camp. I had called CNAC every week, numerous times, just to get his car payments takin' out of his military pay. Every call, I was told that "Mike" was not in the office, to try the next day. After this went on for almost 2 weeks, I finally got to speak with Mike.

Well I guess I'll add my story to the mix. I had recently filed bankruptcy 2 years ago. I had both my cars repo'd and I needed a car in a hurry. So stupid me (without the knowledge of knowing I could've gone elsewhere) goes to JD Byrider because they will give a car to anyone. Well they gave me one a '97 Ford Escort with 96000 miles on it for $7000.00. How dumb I know!

Anyways, let me start off by saying I found this site while looking up JD Byrider's phone number through Google, as I didn't have my cell phone handy and I wanted to make a payment over the phone.

I went to the local JD Byrider yesterday did allthe paper work and they said they would contact me once they got the approval..
In the meantime I've been doing research here and on another consumer website and after all that i've read, I'm bypassing Byrider..

I purchase a 99 ford windstar for Jdbyrider and the very first day that I purchase the car it broke down on the highway they would not let me return the car Since I had this car it has been in the shop for at least two time a months sometimes for over two weeks I cant people how evil some people can be I paying thousands of dollars for a car that not even worth it

I had the unpleasant experience of being a customer of JDB for a year. I faithfully paid my car note with CNAC every week. They still called and text message my phone until it started smoking!!! The account manager "Tom" was a nasty rotten person. After purchasing the 2000 Pontiac Grand Am from them, we noticed the next day the dash was full of cock roaches!!!!

I paid off a ragady lemon of a car from CNAC back in 2007 and to date Mae Newmann of CNAC refuses to report it to the 3 credit buearus. I've went to the Better Business Buearus, Attorney General and several other places looking for help about this.

My husband and I purchased a 2001 Sata Fe from JD Byrider in Roanoke Va! We are young and don't have any credit established and saw the commercials and thought it would be a good idea. Wrong. We had the car for about 6 months and the motor blew in the vehicle. The bad part was 2 days after we bought the car, the motor starting missing.

I am no longer employed by this company and I never purchased a vehicle from them, I, like many others was duped into working for them for a short period of time. The number of lies that they have to tell to find a way to trick people into employment so far shows no bounds.

OMG ok you cant even walk aroumd the lot w/o giving them your paystubs, your birth certificate, your mothers blood sample...etc... then once you do that then you think you can test drive WRONG!!! Guess again buddy. first you have to get pre-qualified. that takes approismatley oh 5-6 hrs. then you like one they send your info in the back to CNAC to be qualified again...oh theres another 2 hours. by the time its over you just sign whatever they want in order to escape that place. it's like a haunted house that you walk into and you cant escape from...i did whatever they wanted me to do just to be able to go home. i hate that place. if you are one day late they take it! well they can have thier raggedy car back i hate it. it falls apart while driving down the street. literally. stuff will just off off omg.

My husband and I bought a 99 chevy venture from JD Byrider in May of '06. It ran fine for about 2 months, then the intake manifold gasket needed to be replaced. It is the only time we have been late on a payment, we had to pay over $200 in towing, plus a rental car for a week and the $25 deductible to get it fixed.

I bought a 2004 Blazer, paid ALL the deferred down payments on time. I also asked that all future payments be deducted from my bank account automatically, because it is impossible for me to predict my working hours. I called EVERYDAY to see if the paperword had been processed because I was not going to be able to make the payment IN PERSON. They said no problem.

This company is all about bullying customers and employees alike. To those unfortunate people who have purchased a vehicle from JD I feel for you, you are now at thier mercy. They sold you a car that should never be resold in the first place, as I stated in my earlier comments, most of those cars have been under water or are unstructurally sound.

I can't speak for every location and service, but in my situation I can say that the concept is sound. I went through a divorce a few years back and lost everything.....house went into forclosure, car repoed, and I was out of work for 6 months after a wreck and finally filed for bankruptcy.

Here's a very long story that i'm gonna try to shorten. Jacksonville, Florida...I was self employed,running 2 businesses, and working a FT night job. My Dad was terminaaly ill and required constant medical care , because of this, I was the sole supporter of myslef (my 2 children) both parents and my little brother. We lived in a rural community.

We had both lost our jobs in 2003 and in late 2004, after beginning to recover from losing everything, the one vehicle we had began to act up. We went to Byrider because we had no choice. We bought our first vehicle from them in January 2005. We are both mechanically inclined so, we anticipated that a vehicle with 90,000+ miles on it would have some issues.

I just have one question for all you whining complaining people whose fault is it you have bad credit? the answer is your own fault!! your just lucky there are people like jdbyrider out there that only deals with people who have bad credit or else all of you would be walking!! so do yourself a favor and get a better job so you can get a better life and then get a better car instead of cryi

i purchase a 2000 oldsmobile inturige from jd byrider on peachtree industrial in doravillie. my experince in purchasing this car has been nothing but a nightmare. i brought this car on jan.17,2008. on jan.18.2008 i got into my new car ready to ride, let me remind you that it was cold as hell outside. when i got into my car to turn the heater on there was no heat. as i started driving my new used car the transmission started snatching like it was ready to throw a rod.

If i decide to have JD COME GET OUR CAR,THEY CANT GARNISH MY WAGES OR MY WIFES. WE ARE ON SSI............. IT CANT BE GARNISHED!!!!!!!!!!! LOL LOL LOL TAKE THAT CNAC AND JD.

In 2001 My mom bought me my first car there. On the way home from the lot the transmission went out. that was just the first problem. after they "fixed" it, the car became possessed. Everytime i would make a left turn the horn would go off, the entire turn. then I would have to hold both feet on the break to keep the speed at 50. not to mention it would die everytime i stoped. it would start back up but damn it was annoying.
